Media Review Panel: Douglas Story, Jon and Kim Pluskota, and Soni Fitzroy

My first narrative machinima, about 5 mysterious letters that appear to a troubled priest who brings them to Hildegard of Bingen to interpret. I was pleased to learn that it won an award for film excellence in Aino Baar's Open this End, and sixth place in the UWA Machinima Challenge III "Journey"

MU, there is a competition given twice a year by the University of Western Australia in Second Life.  Talk to JayJay Zifanwe in Second Life about it: this next one has a closing date sometime in November and the only rule is that you incorporate the 2 and 3D artwork at the UWA exhibit for the "Art of the Artists" challenge. See: http://editorialclarity.wordpress.com/2011/06/02/press-release-mach... In the meantime, Chantal Harvey works with Linden Endowment of the Arts (LEA) to produce Month of Machinima (MoM) which selects about 12-14 machinimas every month according to a theme and plays them. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Month_of_Machinima  There probably is a forum announcement about these competitions on this NING.

thanks very much, Douglas.  I worked hard on it.  That makes me appreciate the hard work I see on other people's machinimas-- especially when they coordinate with other actors.

Terrific. It's nicely paced and held my attention throughout. It's also an excellent example of how to interstitial titles on-screen to advance and clarify the story. Brava.
